Join Commissioner Hart Stebbins at Her Monthly Luncheon

Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins would like to invite you to her next monthly neighborhood luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 17, noon-1 p.m. at McKinley Community Center, 3401 Monroe NE.

The speaker for October is Adrien Lawyer, executive director and co-founder of the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico (TGRCNM). Adrien and his professional partner started TCRCNM in 2008 and it has been at its current location since 2012.

TGRCNM is the only organization in New Mexico that provides a wide array of services solely for the transgender community, including food & clothing distribution, monthly bus passes, rapid HIV testing and counseling. The center also advocates for transgender people through educational outreach.

As part of the educational outreach, Adrien travels throughout New Mexico to educate the public with his Trans 101 presentation, which he estimates he has presented more than 800 times. He has been instrumental in doing advocacy at the both the individual and policy levels. As transgender man and a father, Adrien is working for equality and accessible resources for the entire transgender community.
