May 20-26 is National Public Works Week

The Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners recognized May 20-26, 2018, as National Public Works Week at its administrative meeting on Tuesday, May 8.

This year’s national theme, “The Power of Public Works,” gives voice to the impact that the many facets of public works have on modern civilization.

Those facets range from water conservation efforts to disposing of solid waste, to building roads, storm water systems and multi-modal trails, to removing snow on roadways, and ensuring the safety and maintenance of our fleet and facilities.

The tireless efforts of the 243 Bernalillo County men and women of this important sector design, build, operate and maintain the county’s public infrastructure. Public Works professionals make a vital contribution every day to communities, in not only this county, but in counties all across North America.

The Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners acknowledges National Public Works Week 2018 and proudly salutes and thanks our public works professionals for their quiet dedication and indispensable influence on our daily lives.
