Groundbreaking - Bernalillo County to Begin Construction of New Animal Care and Resource Center

Bernalillo County is building its first ever animal care and resource center to accommodate the growing needs for animal care in the county. Currently the county contracts with the City of Albuquerque and out-of-town animal shelters to house its animals.

The public is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new BernCo Animal Care and Resource Center on Thursday, July 27 at 11 a.m. The groundbreaking ceremony is at the site of the future center, 3001 Second Street NW.

In attendance will be County Commission Chair Debbie O’Malley, Commission Vice Chair Steven Michael Quezada, County Manager Julie Morgas Baca, Misha Goodman the BernCo Animal Care Services Director, and Leslie King of Animal Protection of New Mexico.
