Bernalillo County Assessor Mails Out Business Personal Property Manufactured Home and Livestock Reporting Forms

The Bernalillo County Assessor’s Office announces that the forms to report 2018 information for business personal property, livestock and manufactured homes have been sent out and the deadline to submit these completed reports to the Assessor’s Office is Feb. 28, 2019.

Every year, business personal property, livestock and manufactured home owners must complete a report with the Assessor’s Office regarding their property such as equipment used for businesses, current mobile home information, or individual livestock located within the boundaries of the county. Property owners who fail to submit these reports on time may face financial penalties and even be subjected to an audit.

Business owners who want to file their business personal property reports online, may use the e-file system located on the assessor’s website at: Business Personal Property. Accurately reporting these items leads to accurate valuation of the properties for tax purposes while creating fair and equitable assessments across the county.

“In 2017, out of the over 11,000 reports filed of personal property business equipment, up to 10 percent of those reports were filed electronically through our e-file system,” says Bernalillo County Assessor Tanya R Giddings. “We want businesses to take advantage of this convenient and time-saving option with 24/7 access for reporting.”

For tax year 2018, there was a total of 33,470 reports mailed out, with a total appraised value of $1.6 billion.

If residents have any questions or need more information, they should call the Assessor’s Office at (505) 222-3700 or visit www.bernco.gov/assessor.
