Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover Announces New Mobile Voting Unit

Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover would like to announce that a mobile voting unit will be utilized for the 2018 general election.

The clerk will share more information about the new unit at tonight’s County Commission meeting at 5 p.m. in the Vincent E. Griego chambers, located in the basement of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center, One Civic Plaza NW.

Clerk Linda Stover comments, “This is a project I had in mind long before I ran for office and I have continually pursued. The idea came from the need to fill a void for seniors who may become disenfranchised due to their inability to make it into the polling sites.”

The mobile voting unit will be placed at or near a different senior facility throughout Bernalillo County each day during early voting from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and is open to all qualified registered Bernalillo County voters.

Stover adds, “To my knowledge, this is the first mobile voting unit of this kind offered in the southwest. I hope it grows to be offered to all throughout New Mexico after its introduction during the general election.”
