There are a number of ways to get involved with the Open Space program including attending events, becoming a Master Naturalist volunteer or just exploring the Open Space properties.

The Open Space program offers something for everyone from young children and families who want to get outdoors to adults who want to learn more about the local environment and history.

A great way to get involved and give back to the community is by volunteering. Bernalillo County Open Space staff is fortunate to work with dedicated and passionate partners and volunteers. Through their hard work and assistance, the county is able to effectively manage the Open Space properties natural resources, develop interpretive and educational material and provide meaningful events and activities for the public. Do not hesitate to contact the Open Space coordinator if you have any questions about the Open Space program, or suggestions.

The Master Naturalist Program provides an excellent opportunity to participate in conserving, preserving and restoring the local environment. Volunteers learn about the local environment and contribute towards natural resource management. Participants are actively engaged through education and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources on Open Space properties.
