The Bernalillo County Housing Department provides decent, safe, sanitary, affordable housing opportunities to income eligible residents of the county and administers all of its programs in accordance with all federal, state and local laws, ordinances, regulations and guidelines.

The Bernalillo County Housing Department will hold four public hearings on Community Development Block Grant Program activities to receive public input on community development needs and suggestions for future CDBG projects.

The first two meetings are March 21, 2019 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at El Centro Senior Commons Center, 2210 Centro Familiar SW, Albuquerque, 87105.

​​​​​The second two meetings are March 25, 2019 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center, 2008 Larrazolo SW, Albuquerque, 87105.



  • The Bernalillo County Housing Department has developed its PHA Annual Plan in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Housing Quality and Work Responsibility Act of 1999.
    The plan, along with supporting documentation, will be available for review at the Administrative Offices of the Bernalillo County Housing Department located at 1900 Bridge Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico from March 11, 2019 through April 11, 2019 during normal business hours.
    On April 11, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. a public hearing will be held to entertain any written comments that the public may have. Questions may be addressed to Betty Valdez, 1900 Bridge Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.

     

  • On Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, Bernalillo County Housing will close the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (also known as Section 8). We will continue to accept pre-applications for all other housing programs including San Miguel County Housing Section 8.   • Please join us for this free event as we combine writing prompts with walks surrounding Bachechi Open Space to strengthen our poetic voices through detailed observation of the natural world. Participants are asked to bring a notebook, pen or pencil, and a favorite nature poem to class. Register at the link below.
