Community Services

Mission Statement:

Inclusion Services strives to insure that all residents with disabilities have the same opportunities to participate in all department programs and services as residents without disabilities.

The program will provide an inclusive environment that serves to foster everyone participating together.

Inclusion services will serve to increase public awareness of the various community resources and recreational programs available to people with disabilities.

Our goals and objectives are to give all residents of Bernalillo County, regardless of ability, the opportunity to participate in and experience the benefits of parks and recreation services and programs.

To increase community awareness and understanding of physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities.

Through effective leadership and training, department staff will continuously exhibit an inclusive and welcoming attitude towards all participants with disabilities.

To maintain a system which effectively identifies those participants who require reasonable accommodations and to make available those accommodations when feasible.

Thanks:

Thanks to all our Parks and Recreation Department partners, for helping make our community better for all
