County Pools Open for Season Memorial Weekend

Bernalillo County swimming pools and the Alameda Spray Park will open Saturday, May 25 at noon.

The county’s four pools, plus the spray park will open for the season providing a safe and enjoyable way to beat the New Mexico heat.

The South Valley Pool and Splash Pad will be featuring a new look as phase II of a renovation project is now complete. The pool now has a new entrance, bathhouse, shade areas, parking lot and updated landscaping.

A list of Pools and Spray Parks, with operating hours, are as follows:

The outdoor pools and spray parks will close for the season on August 2. Swimming is year-round at Rio Grande indoor pool.

Contact each pool for information on swim lessons, swim team, water aerobics and pool rentals in the morning or evening.

  • Please join us for this free event as we combine writing prompts with walks surrounding Bachechi Open Space to strengthen our poetic voices through detailed observation of the natural world. Participants are asked to bring a notebook, pen or pencil, and a favorite nature poem to class. Register at the link below.
