    2019 Summer Food Service Program

    Summer Food Program IconThe ABC Community School Partnership is providing free and nutritious meals during the summer from May 29 through Aug. 2, 2019, at the locations linked below for youth aged one - 18 years. No registration is required in order to receive a meal.

    Bernalillo County is committed to supporting our community in partnership with the state Children, Youth and Families Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

    Bernalillo County’s summer food service program has served thousands of free and nutritious meals for more than 30 years.

    Program Rules

    1. Participants must be one to 18 years of age to receive a meal.
    2. Meals or individual food items cannot be taken from the site.
    3. Participants must receive an entire meal, including milk.
    4. All meals will be served on a first come, first served basis.

    Please note, Bernalillo County's Summer Lunch Program is separate from the City of Albuquerque's program. Find a location within the city limits on the city website.

    The Bernalillo County meal sites are in green. Each site description includes the program's start and end date for that location, and times of breakfast (if offered) and lunch.

    • Bernalillo County Open Space and Cottonwood Gulch Explorations are hosting Fall Family Fun Days every Sunday through November, noon – 5 p.m. at Bachechi Open Space, 9521 Rio Grande Boulevard NW. Fall Family Fun Days offers free fun for the whole family. Each week includes a new crafts project, outdoor activities and experiments, to help everyone discover the outdoor world. Every month is also a new theme. In September, learn how to identify wildlife by “Tracking.” Families receive tracking guides with molds of animal tracks and scat to discover the activity of local creatures.

    • Come enjoy this guided nature meditation that includes a short nature walk from the Bachechi Open Space Environmental Education Building to a prime sitting location for sunset. Learn to connect with nature on a deeper level and further develop your own inner stillness through mindfulness meditation in the outdoors. Bring layers appropriate for the weather and either a blanket or camp chair to sit on.

    • Westside Community Center is offering FREE youth and adult guitar classes from Sept. 9 through Oct. 19! They take place every Sunday fron noon to 1 p.m. and every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Call (505) 314-0176 for more information.
