County Manager

Another commonly used way to compare jurisdictions is by looking at how many employees that jurisdiction has relative to the population.

For simplicity, the population is often broken into groups, in this case one thousand persons. As you can see below, Bernalillo County’s workforce size compares favorably with counties in our region. Keep in mind again that the number of employees it takes to operate a county government is directly related to the types of services that government provides, which varies from county to county. The City of Albuquerque is included in this graph for information only, as cities and counties can vary significantly in the types of services they deliver to their residents.
