BernCo Commissioners Approve Legislative Policy and Capital Outlay Priorities for Upcoming Session

01/15/2020

The Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners approved a list of capital outlay funding requests that the county is asking the New Mexico Legislature to fund during its 2020 session that begins in Santa Fe on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Capital outlay funds are those used by local government to design, build, renovate, improve or equip physical property that will be used by the public. Roads, information technology equipment, playgrounds, parks, vehicles, schools, storm drainage and utility lines and specific types of equipment can all be capital outlay projects.

Legislative policy requests involve substantive legislation being passed that is in the best interests of Bernalillo County finances, programs, initiatives, and its constituents.
