Provide a deserved, lawful, proper and dignified manner of disposition for those decedent residents who are indigent or go unclaimed upon death, and to handle every case accurately and lawfully with the utmost attention.

  • Approve qualified indigent/unclaimed decedents from various sources 
  • Contact and identify legal next of kin
  • Provide information for death certificates to contracted funeral home
  • Authorize cremation and finalize case file
  • Process reimbursements and release letter for cremains claimed by family members
  • Plan and facilitate annual burials for eligible veterans at Santa Fe National Cemetery and memorial service for all other eligible decedents

The Matrix is used during the Build Foundation and Developing Framework phases of the performance reporting process. While developing the Matrix the mission, services, projects, and performance measures are reviewed, updated, and/or established for the upcoming cycle. The Meeting Agenda and Industry Research are used during the Analyze & Review phase of the performance reporting process. The Meeting Agenda tracks questions and follow up items addressed during the DCM Performance Meetings, while the Industry Research is reviewed for industry trends and benchmarking opportunities.
