Bernalillo County - Commissioner Lonnie Talbert today hosted a delegation of European political leaders at the Bernalillo County Commission offices, sharing best practices on job creation, economic development and open government.

Leaders from Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany and six other countries shared opportunities and challenges with Commissioner Talbert and BernCo’s Economic Development Director, Mayling Armijo.

“The Bernalillo County Commission is a great example of local government partnering with the private sector to create jobs and bring in new dollars to our community,” Commissioner Lonnie Talbert says. “We’ve worked hard to get real results, and share them with the world: More than 3,600 jobs, 46 projects, and over $700 million in new private investment.”

Today’s visit is supported by the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County International Trade Alliance and BernCo’s Economic Development Department.
