Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County along with partner agencies will formally reopen the newly reconstructed and improved Tower Road to the South Valley community this Friday following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. on Tower Road itself.

District 2 County Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada invites the community to the ceremony that will fully reopen Tower Road to the public.

“Bernalillo County is excited to reopen this roadway to the South Valley community,” says Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada. “I personally travel Tower Road on a daily basis and the improvements are going to be a welcome sight and valued addition to the neighborhoods.”

Tower Road was fully closed for about four and a half months for reconstruction of the roadway. Improvements include reconstructing the road, adding buffered bike lanes, storm drains, and curb and gutter.

The road project was completed one month ahead of schedule.
