New Mexico Ice Wolves Acknowledged by County Commission

On Jan. 14, 2020, the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners acknowledged and welcomed the New Mexico Ice Wolves, a North American Hockey League junior team for athletes aged 16 to 20 based in Bernalillo County. The commissioners called upon all citizens of Bernalillo County to support the vitality of youth sports in the community.

The Ice Wolves’ players come from all over the United States and practice and play at the Outpost Ice Arena on Tramway Boulevard.

Many players of the Ice Wolves are new visitors to Bernalillo County, staying away from family during the season in order to pursue their sports passion. The Ice Wolves provide a cohesive opportunity for young athletes to develop and grow professional skills, both on and off the ice rink, while enjoying organized hockey.

The Ice Wolves engage Bernalillo County with teams nationwide, acting as ambassadors for the community and bringing the sport of hockey to the county.
