BernCo Animal Care Adjusting Hours


Bernalillo County Animal Care and Resource Center is changing its hours effective June 1 to increase availability and serve public interest.

Animal Care Services Director Misha Goodman hopes the changes will match the county’s many animals with a forever home.

“We’ve seen a large influx in animals coming through our center since the pandemic began,” says Misha Goodman.  “It’s time to open up a little more and give folks a good opportunity to find that perfect companion.”

The updated Animal Care Center hours are as follows:

  • Business hours:  Tues. – Sat., Noon – 5 p.m.
  • Services include:
    • Animal Viewing and Adoptions: Tues – Sat., Noon with final viewings at 4:30 p.m.

    • Lost Pet – Email:
    • Owner Relinquishments- By Appointment 505-468-7261
    • Spay/Neuter Assistance Program
    • Reclaim
    • To report Animal Neglect or Cruelty or for Emergencies and Stray Found Animals- 505-468-PETS (7387)
    • Donations of product are welcome! Drop off can be done during normal business hours.

Masks are required within the Animal Care facility for all employees, vendors, and contractors. The general public is not required to wear a mask, but it is encouraged.
