Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office Prepares to Mail the 2020 Property Tax Bills

The Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office is preparing to mail the 2020 property tax bills to property owners (land, house, mobile home, business equipment, and livestock) on Oct. 30, 2020. The tax roll was received from the county Assessor’s Office and Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce and her staff have been working diligently to review the tax schedule and mail tax bills early this year. Per New Mexico state law, the property tax bills are required to be mailed by Nov. 1 each year, but since Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday this year, the tax bills will be mailed on Oct. 30.

Bernalillo County tax bill dates are as follows:

  • Oct. 30, 2020- Mailing of property tax bills
  • Nov. 10, 2020- Payment due date
  • Dec. 10, 2020- Final due date without late penalties and interest

“Property tax payments benefit the community such as APS, UNMH, CNM, the City of Albuquerque and other taxing entities.” says Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce. “The collection of property taxes is an important step in community services and operations.”
